This was taken on the 23rd Dec.. at Changi Terminal 1 checking in for our flight to Kuala Lumpur then transit to Korea, Seoul.

My FIRST TRIP to Korea!

For her ish second time.. she went with her good friend Iris last year so this time... she kind of bring me around. :) And oh ya.. we are on FREE & EASY! Rented our own car to drive around Jeju.

Our trip this time covers JEJU & SEOUL! :)

We were greeted with snowy ground... just in time for White Christmas ~ ho ho ho~

Seoul is about 1 hour ahead of SG...

As you can see the time above me is 6:48 AM

So Singapore Time is 5:48 AM

After that we took a bus and travelled to Gimpo Airport to take a domestic flight to Jeju.

at the Gimpo Airport... we had a simple meal at the restaurant there.. :)

this was the car that we rented. its called Hyundai Avante. In Singapore its known as Hyundai Elantra (I don't know why there's a change in the name). Its quite a nice car to drive... And its WHITE! Made it look at its best! :)

Over there you just have to key in the telephone number of your destination and it will bring you to the place you wanna go. :)

its a show that comprises of many kitchen-wares like knifes, pots and containers... making noises out of it.. hence creating nice sounds and rhythms - just like drumming! :)

NANTA performances can be seen in three Seoul locations (at the Myeong Dong NANTA Theatre in the downtown area, at the Gangbuk Jeong Dong NANTA Theatre near City Hall area and also at the Gangnam NANTA Theatre). it was quite insightful and interesting... though to be honest, i have not really watch the Titanic movie yet. :P

we had these as our boarding pass entering the exhibition... its was quite interesting.

at the back of the passes were details that were based on the real person that was on board the Titanic.

My name was Mr. Thomas Andrews Jr and I'm actually the Chief Designer for the White Star Line which was the builder for this ship. Michelle's was Mrs Victor de Satode Penasco v Castellana.

Both of us were travelling on First Class. hee.. :)

I really like coffee. 1. It protects your heart: Moderate coffee drinkers (1 to 3 cups/day) have lower rates of stroke than noncoffee drinkers, an effect linked to coffee's antioxidants. All those antioxidants may help suppress the damaging effect of inflammation on arteries. Immediately after drinking it, coffee raises your blood pressure and heart rate, but over the long term, it actually may lower blood pressure as coffee's antioxidants activate nitric oxide, widening blood vessels.

2. It diverts diabetes: Those antioxidants (chlorogenic acid and quinides, specifically) play another role: boosting your cells' sensitivity to insulin, which helps regulate blood sugar. Those antioxidants may ward off brain cell damage and help the neurotransmitters involved in cognitive function to work better.

5. It helps your headaches: And not just the withdrawal headaches caused by skipping your daily dose of caffeine! Studies show that 200 milligrams of caffeine-about the amount in 16 ounces of brewed coffee-provides relief from headaches, including migraines. Exactly how caffeine relieves headaches isn't clear. But scientists do know that caffeine boosts the activity of brain cells, causing surrounding blood vessels to constrict. One theory is that this constriction helps to relieve the pressure that causes the pain, says Robert Shapiro, M.D., Ph.D., associate professor of neurology and director of the Headache Clinic at the University of Vermont Medical School.

Now, that's not to say that coffee doesn't have any pitfalls-it does. But if you like coffee and you can tolerate it well, enjoy it...without the guilt.

I've browse thru' the website and i think if i've $100 to spend at JIPABAN.COM.. i would get the short-sleeve shirt worn by the model below (btw.. he's my friend.. and we've the same surname :P). Its very casual plus a lil bit of smart.. i like it the way it is. Looks very comfy too... afterall its not jus about nice, but it has to be comfortable when worn.

matching with a light coloured berms above looks nice also... but i will go for the khaki pants below.

I have always wanted to get a nice matching brown pants.. perhaps this is the one. :)

it goes well with casual long sleeve shirt as well. :)

I would also get a pair of white shoes to go along. That's probably the only pair of white shoes i saw from the website and i think its not bad. Above, the model matches the white shoes with dark coloured jeans, but i think it goes well with khaki slim-fit pants as well. So, i will get this! :)

Guinness Live Round 21 - Yong Wei vs SiLing 15Dec2011

My second time to Firefly as a blogger covering this event on that day.

its a very nice cosy place.

here.. let me feature YongWei first..

His performance was very much better than the day before.. perhaps the day before was too rush for him, hence he was unprepared. For this time, he dressed well also as compared to the previous day he wore a simple t-shirt with some prints on it and an old faded jeans (see my previous blogpost)

Thumbs up for you, YongWei! But of course you need to brush up more on your singing.. in order to outwit your competitors. Perhaps some variations at certain parts of the song would be good. :)

One thing i like about YongWei is his humbleness despite the criticism by some nasty judges or MCs.

he maintained his silence and just listen.

SiLing on the other hand... was more EMO that day. throughout whole thing she was quite quiet also. she was not as chirpy as the first day i saw her. Later, i found out from her that her stomach was not feeling well... Nevertheless, she still sang very well and have chosen the right songs which suits her condition.

Mentors' comments are very kind, of course I feel no matter how good u are, there are definitely room for improvement ... just like my hokkien song ... i can work on adding more hokkien flavour to the song.

I tink Jaye ur stylist really put in a lot of effort in sending us images as guidance and helping us in our hairdo and make up before the competition .. really learn alot from him

His dress sense was criticised by the MC for being too norm, saying the audience can even wear better than him. I personally felt that it was abit too much. She should have learned that he was called last min to stand in and sang on this day, because the actual singer who was supposed to compete with Regine was sick. He had no choice but to come to the event unprepared, rushing from Changi chalet.

At a news online (4 Nov), Cammi tearfully admitted losing her virginity to Edison Chen- this statement contradicted to what she previously told media that she did not have any sexual relationship with Edison Chen.

When interviewed by Hong Kong's Suddenly Weekly, Cammi totally lost it and admitted Edison had filmed a 2 minute bedroom scene of her in underwear and a uniform, but never admit to any video of them having sex.

She said that Edison wanted to film her, saying it was for his company.
"He coaxed me into filming, saying that it was for work purposes. All I can say is, it's considered an erotic film, but I had my clothes on during the entire process," the model let on.

Guinness Live PK Round 3 - Si Ling vs Phoebe @ FIREFLY (03Nov2011)

... went down to FireFly on Thursday night to witness the singing battle between Si Ling and Phoebe below.

It was the 3rd night of the Guinness Live since the start of the first night on Tuesday.
it was something which i'm pretty interested in.. cos i love singing too! and was like the Taiwan's 超级星光大道!

havin' the PK competition whereby the winner will stay and the loser would be kicked out of the competition on the spot.

But before i start... let me provide you an introduction to what this Guinness Live competition is all about.

In support of the local live music scene, Guinness is staging a fresh music program - Guinness Live - which brings together industry veterans and young aspirants. 12 amazing young performers under the mentorship of music veterans will battle it out through a series of 54 live shows held in three of Singapore’s hottest clubs - Dragonfly, Firefly and Shanghai Dolly.

These 12 singers will be divided into three teams, with each team assigned their respective “home club” and mentor - William Scorpion from Shanghai Dolly, Jason Chung from Dragonfly and Fatt Zhai from Firefly.
Highlights
The highlight of each show features a musical battle where a visiting mentor and the contestant under his tutelage visits a contesting club to challenge the resident team to a stage battle called a Player-Killer Shootout (PK Shootout). With the help of renowned composer and producer Eric Ng, 20 Chinese classics have been turned into special ‘Guinness Live’ remixes for the contestants to perform during the PK Shootout at the three clubs.
Who will decide their fate?
Deciding the fate of the 12 contestants will be the music fans. Fans online can cast their votes on ‘Guinness Live’ Facebook Fan page. Every week one lucky voter will win an exclusive ‘Guinness Live’ St James membership card.

The stakes are high for all twelve participants. At the end of the program, only one team will rise from the lights and applause to emerge as winners. INFO: You’ve probably heard her sing or seen her on television and never realised it. Si Ling has sung back-up vocals for some of the biggest artistes in the region, including Kit Chan. Si Ling is a talented professional but singing back-up for other people is not enough for her. it brought alot of laughter n joy... to the audiences as well. :)

NOW its time to reveal the results !

Starting from zero, the point determination is split into 2 phases.

Phase 1: The marks would be determined by the judges. Cheering from the audiences for each of the contestant would be taken into consideration as well.

Phase 2: Three person would be picked from the audiences to cast their vote on who they think is a better singer. Each vote equates to 10 points.

For the scenario that day, each of them got 70 points from the Phase 1. Thereafter, 3 persons were picked from the audience to cast their vote. The first person cast his vote on one of them, and the second person cast his vote on the other. Eventually, they resulted in having the same points in the end. Both got 80 points each. Hence, the vote from the 3rd person is the most crucial one...

In the end.. the 3rd person cast his vote for SiLing, saying that her performance was better and more comfortable to listen. Hence, she emerge as a winner for this Round with 10 points more than Phoebe. Below where the red arrow is pointing to was the 3rd person who cast the final vote for Si Ling.

This had lead to me thinking will there be even more outrageous photo of the 2 of them on the internet like the previous sex scandal incident which involved various women, including actresses Gillian Chung, Bobo Chan, Rachel Ngan and Cecilia Cheung in 2008.

The scandal shook the Hong Kong entertainment industry in early 2008 and received high profile media attention locally and all over the world.

I'm wondering what have Edison learnt from the previous sex scandal incident? Will Cammi be the next victim?

Cammi was being questioned if she is aware of Edison's Scandal Incident which took place in 2008. She said she was too young to know at the age of 16. She also claimed that she did not have sex with Edison.

The 31 years old HK star, Edison Chen (陳冠希) had appeared to be recently dating a 16 years old model, Cammi Tse (謝芷蕙).

Edison’s secret lip-locking photo with Cammi was exposed last night for the first time (Below).

Allegedly, Edison pulled “all tricks out of his bag” to successfully pursue Cammi, embarking on a relationship with a 15-year age gap!

Earlier, it was rumored that Edison had broken up with former girlfriend, Albert Yeung’s (楊受成) niece, Vincy Yeung (楊永晴). Each time such breakup rumors circulated, Edison stepped forward to deny them.

Last night, a netizen uploaded a photo of Edison kissing Fantasy member, Cammi Tse, on the lips. From the photo, it was apparent that Edison was hugging Cammi from behind while giving her a tongue-twisting kiss typical of passionate lovers!

Through her manager, Admond, Cammi acknowledged that she was the woman kissing Edison in the photo, while refusing to divulge her exact relationship with Edison. Allegedly, Edison was attracted to Cammi upon meeting her for the first time. Edison utilized Whatsapp to start his pursuit and before long, the pair were referring to each other as “bb”! Edison frequently drove Cammi around in his car and the pair dined at fine restaurants together, in which the bills easily surpassed several thousand Hong Kong dollars per meal.

Madly in love, Cammi often left messages on her blog hinting [at her secret relationship with Edison], including “secret love passwords” such as “abcde” which signified “EDC baby.” Cammi also uploaded a photo of a received gift of a stuffed toy, worth several thousand Hong Kong dollars.

I'm not sure if the school of 16-year-old Cammi will take any action with regards to the exposed photo of her kissing with Edison and their romantic relationship.

What is the main function that my Robot must have and why?

The main function my Robot must have is ... to be able to help me clean the toilet! haha
Because i clean my own toilet most of the time. YES.. i clean my own toilet. It can be quite time consuming and tiring sometimes. Hence, if there's a Robot that can help me do this... it would be very nice. It can help me save a lot of time and i can do other things. Maybe to make things even better... let the Robot does all the house chores. e.g cleaning the tables and washing of dishes after dinner. :)

iPhone 5 release date might be most buzzing topic among tech geeks. Like a typical major Apple release, rumors have been spinning for months, however, hot new rumor contradicting all previous speculation about the iPhone 5 launch date in September now states it to be in October. Going through those rumors out in the market, it seems that the new version of iPhone is just round the corner. Most probably, Apple will be unveiling iPhone 5 in October. However, there is no chance for a further delay to November or December, according to sources.

Apple is also reported to have planned to sell as many as 25 million iPhones by the end of 2011. A recent report claims about 35 percent of people planning to buy the iPhone 5 and that could seemingly take Apple’s sales estimates regarding the next generation of iPhone high.

The next generation iPhone from Apple will be the fifth one after iPhone original, 3, 3GS and 4. It is not even clear whether the next version iPhone will be named an iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S. Apple’s strict confidential policy often prevents from revealing any information about its upcoming devices until it is officially announced by the company. Therefore, it is still under cover that what the next iPhone will be. 2 Singaporean Girls asked to strip by Malaysian Immigration Officers!

'They asked us to strip, take off all our clothes and underwear, and then asked us to stand up and down while pulling our ears', said Ms Lim, one of the two women.

TWO Singaporean women who drove to Johor Baru for supper found themselves questioned by Malaysian immigration officers, handcuffed, thrown behind bars and made to do squats while naked.

They said their nightmare started when they drove into Johor Baru without getting their passports stamped, through an unmanned immigration lane. It ended 48 hours later when they were allowed to return to Singapore with a warning.

'We thought it was a small issue, we didn't think something like that would happen,' said one of the women, a manager in an insurance company who wanted to be known only as Ms Chang.

A spokesman for the Custom and Immigration Quarantine Complex in Bangunan Sultan Iskandar confirmed that two Singaporean women had been detained for an immigration offence.

Ms Chang, in her late 30s, had been driven to Johor Baru by her friend, a property agent in her late 20s who wanted to be known only as Ms Lim, at about 1.30am last Thursday.

Ms Lim was driving her new Nissan Latio. It was the first time she had driven to Malaysia, although she had been driven there before by friends.

Shrink in Pasta Mania's Pizza?

Played MJ at my friend's place during Chinese New Year...

In the evening we ordered... Pizzas from Pasta Mania thru' delivery...
and we came to realise that the pizza were abit small.
And my friend took a measuring tape and it was as shown in the picture.

It was supposed be 10 inches.

But look at this... this is only about 8" ?

Anyway... nothing much. Jus sharing ...

Do you encounter the same thing?
Do u think its okie?

We managed to SELL OFF ALL of our Ferrero Rocher flowers by 10pm on the V-DAY!
It was a great achievement - having our baskets emptied... as both of us were still afraid that we can't sell off all of them on the V-day. At 8pm we still had alot more to sell off... and was quite flicker-minded on whether to lower the price or not. Nevertheless.. we made it!

Why women's breasts are getting bigger

There is a growing demand for bras with larger cup sizes.

JUST two years after Bravissimo, a lingerie maker for women with larger bust sizes, launched a KK-cup size, it recently introduced the L-cup to meet the growing demand for larger sizes.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, the unprecedented demand for bigger bra sizes can be explained by three things:

Fat

*The average British bra size has increased dramatically. In the 1950s, the average size was B-cup, but it has since increased to 36C. Bravissimo estimates, however, that it could in fact be closer to 34E.

*Breast cancer expert professor Michael Baum said that 'fat is laid down on breasts as much as thighs and bottoms. We are experiencing an obesity epidemic, so the increase in women's measurements isn't that surprising.'

Hormones

*However, there are also more women with slim figures but big breasts. According to Bravissimo's research, the majority of women they contacted are 'small in the body and big in the bust.' This indicates the reason for bigger breasts is not just fat. Marilyn Glenville, specialising in women's health and hormones, said in the report: 'We have to look at what stimulates breast tissue growth - and that's estrogen, the female sex hormone.'

*According to Dr Glenville, women experience a surge of estrogen as they reach puberty earlier than before, have fewer children and breastfeed for less time. 'With more women today putting off pregnancy until later in life and having fewer children, they experience many more monthly cycles than previous generations did, and are exposed to more estrogen.'

Xenoestrogens (foreign estrogens)

*Hormone Replacement Treatment for menopausal women and contraceptive pills affect cup size too, according to the report. Pesticides, plastics and cosmetics may also influence bra size. Exposure to products such as tinned food, drinks cans and plastic bottles, which contain Bisphenol A (BPA), may also play a role. These xenoestrogens are reported to effect sperm and fertility and are 'potentially affecting women, too - and the proof could be in our bras." 'Applying moisturisers to the skin and often directly on to the breast may stimulate growth in breast tissue,' Dr Glenville said.

*Milk could be another contributor to the increase in bra sizes. The report said about two-thirds of the milk British people consume comes from pregnant cows, which contains high levels of estrogens and other hormones.

Many women aspire to have bigger breasts; however those with big breasts can suffer from chronic back pain and other inconveniences in their everyday lives. Even as more women visit plastic surgeons for breast enlargement operations, an increasing number of women are inquiring about breast reduction operations. -- THE KOREAN HERALD/ANN

Ang Pow from my 小姑!
She always make her own Ang Pow every year and i guess this is probably the BEST Ang Pow i had ever received. Read on and u will know why. :P

Inside the Ang Pow - there was $20 and a folded Rabbit (FYI, its the year of Rabbit in the lunar calendar)

After blowing air to the mouth area of the folded rabbit.. it becomes a FAT Rabbit. haha..
But there was something inside this Big Fat Rabbit when i shook it. What was it?

To my surprise... it was another two small rabbits folded in $10 notes...
making it to $40 for this particular Ang Pow! Cool har~! :)

My Heartland Fiesta 2011- HONG KAH POINT!

MY FIRST ANG BAO OF THE YEAR!

I was selected as one of the 8 star bloggers to explore and blog about Hong Kah Point.

And for this... we were given a BiG Ang Pow by the secretary of the retail association of Hong Kah Point. Wanna Guess How Much Is It? :P

I went down with one of my friend who was also selected for this event last Saturday. We had a good time shopping around there, exploring the place, having good food and playing around.

Basically...
EAT, SHOP and PLAY!

It was a truly rewarding one...
Read on you would know... :)

BUT Before that...
Let me intro you to Hong Kah Point.

Hong Kah Point (HKP) is a charming neighbourhood centre in Jurong West, Hong Kah Point consists of more than a 100 retail shops selling a wide variety of products from trendy fashion wear to electronic goods at delightful heartland prices. It also has a food centre with 60 stalls serving up a wide variety of delicious local cuisines.

Hong Kah Point, which is famous for fruits, also attracts many visitors from all over Singapore every year. Come during June, when the tropical fruits season starts, and indulge your self in the wide variety of mouth-watering durians, mangosteens and sumptuous fruits here.

Besides the “Fruit Paradise” reputation, this place has also been lovingly named the “Chinatown of the West”. This is due to the bustling Chinese New Year Fair that Hong Kah Point holds annually. One of the largest New Year market in the west, residents look forward to this fair every year where they can soak in the lively festive mood and shop from a huge and wonderful range of New Year products and goodies available for sale.

There are also traditional Chinese medical halls selling exotic herbs. Enter into the confectioneries and you would be tempted by the wide range of yummy buns, breads and pastries.

Hence, i bought 3 for my friends for their CNY home decor :)

i bought this to hang on the main door of my house...

and this to hang indoor. :)

i also sort of bought this for my mum... cos i find it very cute and her chinese zodiac sign is Rabbit! :)

All.. i got it from this store 鸿宇世季良品 (Hong Yu Fine Seasonal Products s) which is located @ Blk 504 :)

it sells all sorts of stuffs..

right beside there's a shop called NGT Confectionery (@Blk 504, unit 227) which sells all sorts of chinese new year foodies...
e.g. Pineapple tart - my Favourite (below)

and i bought three of those back! :)

this was somewhere outside unit 843 of Blk 503 where they sell many nice plants to spice up your home this Chinese New Year. You can place them outside your home to make it look more vibrant and lively! :)

"年糕"

u can buy some CDs with nice Chinese New Year songs to play at your home during 初一, first day of chinese new year when visitors come to your place.

these are very nice jelly-like snacks that is located somewhere outside unit 186, between Blk 504 and 506. :)

the seller even gave us some to go back and try. :)

it looks really good.. and im hungry now! Argh!

Here, the same seller also sells Bee Cheng Hiang Bak Kwa , 美真香肉干

that is because they bring in exactly the same Bak Kwa from them and sell it here!
It tasted equally Good! :)

Here @Blk 504, unit no. 221... they also sell electrical and electronic stuffs like fans, washing machine, and rice cooker etc. All these are necessities. Once they are spoilt, you have to buy a new one and you can just get it here conveniently. :)

Medical Hall as mentioned. Its a must in most neighbourhood, especially those with more elderly people staying. Because most of them prefer chinese medicine to western.
(as you can see.. the unit no. is 223, its @ Blk 504) :)

theres also a Pawn Shop located @Blk 504, unit no. 225.

There are many many other shops around Hong Kah Point from Blk 501 to 508, and i can't simply list out all of them here... so if you wanna find out more about the store listings at Hong Kah Point - Pls Click Here! :)

It's Time to EAT!!!

There are many nice food around here and people enjoying their food.
At this Blk 505.. so called MH Centre on the map.. on my right side is hawker centre...

on my left side is like a mini dried market place...
over here they sell dried food like ikan bilis, garlic, ginger and onion etc.

Besides jus buying fish n meat from the market... many would sure need to buy these stuffs to make their food smells nicer. :)

there's also a set-up stall which sells magazines and newspapers.
Quite a big space though. :)

inside the market... theres also a small shop that sells many different types of fish.
But these are NOT for cooking k... haha.

inside the market i also found this nice area with many plants... which seems like a backyard and i'm quite surprise to discover this. Hence, i took some nice photos of it. :)

The wordings on the red paper says "Money Grow Money" :)

Finally we settle down and decided to EAT!
But first of all... we ordered 2 glasses of Sugar Cane Juice from this stall above!
cos we were too thirsty...

my friend ordered this beef noodle above.

I had this chicken rice bought from the stall below.

we also ordered this popular FiSH SOuP to try ...

after our meal... we went to walk n shop around again! :P

they also have this so called "杂货店" which cater to our daily needs n household chores.

while shopping around i saw this and find it quite nice n cute.
thought of buying for my niece for this CNY, but the thought was dismissed bcos i think its too big for her. Anyway, this look more like a korean dress to me. haha. :)

By afternoon around 2pm.. i bought quite a number of things...
it was really worth while. :)

during evening time... we saw quite a number of kids started to PLAY around at the playground. maybe becos the sun was setting, so it was not so hot. But not bad, there's a place for them to play while their parents can go buy their stuffs.

SEE! You can EAT, SHOP and PLAY!

At the later part, when the sky darkens... there were still many people shopping and walking around. Now I know why they say Hong Kah Point is like the "Chinatown of the West" :)

Heartland Fiesta 2011
It will be a 6-week celebration from 1 Apr to 15 May to bring the shopping spirit into the heartland centres. Heartland Fiesta was managed by www.myheartland.com.sg for the 3rd year since 2009. Some of the major heartland centres will be participating. Hong Kah Point is the very first to commit. So be the very first to visit Hong Kah Point and check out the place! :)
